Ursula & Jonathan's Cinema Wedding in the QFT, Belfast by This Modern Love

Ursula & Jonathan - QFT Belfast Cinema Wedding Photography

It's been a long time since we've shot a good old Belfast city wedding. And Ursula & Jonathan did it so well...

The wedding rule book was chucked out the window for this one, and we're so happy that it was. Ursula and Jonathan's day was a beautifully crafted, totally unique and personal experience. One with family and friends right at the centre. And, seriously, so much craic.

The guys made a short film, reading emails to reconstruct the early days of their courtship, and screened to all their guests before Ursula made her entrance. Brilliantly executed by Magic Chair, whose video of the wedding itself is definitely worth checking out. Props to Grace and Saviour, stylist extraordinaire, too.

Big thanks and big love to U&J - Belfast's finest!

Amelia & Thomas / Crom Castle Wedding by This Modern Love

Amelia & Thomas’ Vintage Crom Castle Wedding

Amelia and Thomas got married in Crom Castle in fab retro style. New Zealand meets Northern Ireland in a blaze of vintage glory. Amelia made her own headpiece using mother of pearls worn by her mother and grandmother on their own wedding days. Beyond beautiful.

Amelia and Tom’s wedding was also featured on One Fab Day.

Katherine & Matt's Wedding at Hawthbush Farm, East Sussex by This Modern Love

Katherine & Matt - Hawthbush Farm Wedding Photography

Every so often a wedding comes along where the brief is 'just show up and do your thing'.

There are also some weddings where the couple wish they could add - 'and leave us out of it...' :) Some people don't much like being the centre of attention.

I love these weddings. They're more daunting to photograph for sure. But more purely documentary, which is where my heart lies.

Katherine and Matt deconstructed the wedding at their amazing day at Hawthbush Farm. There were beautiful vows, great food, they had a blast - all of that. But they didn't do anything because it was expected. They made up their own version, and it completely and utterly ruled.

These are some of my favourite photos this year.

Big props to Katherine's talented aunt Jacqueline for the flowers - http://www.jacquelinek.co.uk/
