Every so often a wedding comes along where the brief is 'just show up and do your thing'.

There are also some weddings where the couple wish they could add - 'and leave us out of it...' :) Some people don't much like being the centre of attention.

I love these weddings. They're more daunting to photograph for sure. But more purely documentary, which is where my heart lies.

Katherine and Matt deconstructed the wedding at their amazing day at Hawthbush Farm. There were beautiful vows, great food, they had a blast - all of that. But they didn't do anything because it was expected. They made up their own version, and it completely and utterly ruled.

Alaa & Issam's Morocco Wedding / Beldi Country Club, Marrakech

What a privilege it was to second shoot for our good friend Tomasz Wagner earlier this year.  And Alaa & Issam’s wedding is definitely one to remember... An amazing mix of Saudi Arabian, Yemeni and Moroccan traditions. All in the Beldi Country Club, a rustic rose farm in Marrakech. With ace wedding planners Boutique Souk at the helm (creative legends who happen to originate from Ireland - just sayin!).

I love the colour and movement in these photos. This was the first time I've been a second shooter since the very beginning of TML. And it was brilliantly freeing to be able to shoot creatively and playfully, safe in the knowledge that Tomasz was doing the heavy lifting! Sophie and Tom's wedding makes us feel good about the world. Beautiful people, right down to the core. So much soul and goodness at their day in Ballymagarvey Village last August. Two musicians, with insanely talented musician families and friends. I've never heard such amazing sounds at a wedding.

By the way, dear readers, thanks for bearing with us through the recent radio silence! We fell over into a big heap after building the house and have spent the off-season devoting a bit of time to our own souls, and to the kidlets... So excited to be back in the middle of the wedding roller-coaster now though. 2016 - let's get it on!!
