Loved Bronagh and Brian’s wedding at Virginia Park Lodge. So much fun and tenderness here. Absolutely beautiful day.

What a privilege to photograph Helen and Mikey's wedding at Hillmount House in Larne. Such a joyful day.
Hillmount House is just outside Larne on the Old Glenarm Road, at the start of the Causeway Coastal Route. The grounds sweep down towards the sea, and the 300-year-old Georgian house at the heart of the estate has so much warmth and character. It's a beautiful place to photograph a wedding.
The ceremony was outside under the stretch tent, with drinks and speeches in the courtyard afterwards. The courtyard has a brilliant atmosphere for that part of the day - open sky, old stone, laidback rustic vibes. Exactly the kind of setting where documentary photography looks after itself.
Flowers by Victoriana Floral Artistry, and Helen's dress - Eva Lendel by Love Bridal London - were both stunning on film. We shot a mix of film and digital throughout, as we often do. (if you’re interested in having film at your own wedding, just ask!) The light at Hillmount, particularly in the afternoon, made these frames extra special.
And finally, the flash mob. Secretly planned and rehearsed by their friends. Completely unexpected. Brilliantly executed. It was a stroke of genius and explains the dancing photos! One of those moments that makes the whole day.
Huge congratulations Helen and Mikey. Thank you so much for having us 🤍
It's always a privilege to photograph a friend's wedding, and this one was really special. Yaz and I are both painters and we've worked together on painting shows. So it was such a joyful thing to collaborate again, this time making documentary photographs of her wedding on film and digital. Two absolute legends…
It was also a bonus to return to The Empire Music Hall. We actually shot the first ever wedding at the Empire back in 2012!
The Empire is one of those Belfast institution, full of colour and energy. A Victorian music hall on Botanic Avenue, steeped in live music history - high ceilings, deep colour, the iconic stage backdrop. The kind of place people arrive to ready to go, and that energy was in the room all day.
Yaz made the flowers herself with One Small Seed, which felt completely in keeping with the spirit of the day - personal and creative. Catering by Caff Catering Belfast, cake by French Village, and music by Jamie Nelson DJs. We would recommend all of these suppliers in a heartbeat.
A proper Belfast city wedding with a lot of soul. So glad to have been part of it.
