2014 by This Modern Love

Putting the end of year post together has become one of my favourite things. A couple of days spent combing through files, remembering the amazing people I've met and the photos we've made. I couldn't have hoped for a nicer bunch of people to work with in 2014. If you're reading this, you ROCK and thank you so much for having us.

I also started to talk a little bit about photography this year, in a Buzzfeed article which had a brush with going viral (nowhere near Kimye proportions of course, but good craic none-the-less!) and a more contemplative Junebug interview. Which felt weird for this INFP ;) But is hopefully the start of more conversations to come...

As ever, humungous thank yous to our photographer comrades, in Ireland and dotted all around the world, who have kept us sane and inspired, and occasionally inebriated.

Excited to see what 2015 might hold...

Cheryl & Dave - Millhouse Wedding - Slane by This Modern Love

Cheryl & Dave’s Millhouse Wedding in Slane

It's pretty likely that Cheryl, Dave and I have been to about 50 of the same gigs over the years without knowing it. Kindred spirits for sure! And shooting their music focussed, fabulous 1940's wedding in the Millhouse in Slane was a dream. Loved this day from beginning to end.

Big thanks to One Fab Day for featuring it.

Laura & Gene's Mountain Elopement in Ireland by This Modern Love

Laura & Gene’s Mountain Elopement in Ireland

Let us tell you about Laura and Gene... Two old souls, deeply, deeply in love... Alabamans, possibly the world's greatest Felice Brothers fans, minimalists, nature-lovers, amazing human beings...

They didn't want a big traditional wedding. Instead, a small ceremony, an elopement, just the two of them, up a mountain in Ireland - where they had never been before! Plans were hatched over Skype and flights were booked. On the day, we collected the cake* and drove south to Carlingford. The kids from the guesthouse picked Laura a bouquet from their garden, we met the minister** in the forest, and things suddenly began to take shape...

Such an intimate, wind-swept and magical day. One we'll remember for a long time...
